HoneyFund ... the alternative to receiving 4 toasters :)

HoneyFund announcement for social media

For those of you who are in the mood for adventure, would like to give a monetary gift rather than a toaster, or who just think that technology is cool, this is for you.

We've set up a HoneyFund account to allow our family and friends to safely and discretely give gifts of money to the happy couple to celebrate their wedding and help fund their honeymoon.  There are several great reasons to consider this option:

  1. You can make your gift at your convenience, at any time and even from your mobile device (iPhone and Android apps are available, and the site is also available in mobile browsers)
  2. Your gift is secure and accounted for using your credit card through PayPal, which eliminates the need for a check or cash in your greeting card at the reception, which can be misplaced or lost in all the excitement.
  3. You can choose exactly how much you would like to give and even what part of their honeymoon you want to give toward (there are several categories and amounts, which can be customized as you make your gift).
Here's how it works:

Go to this website:  http://honeyfund.com/wedding/TimmanandGareyGetHitched

Take a minute to read the message from Seth and Ann, and then locate the Registry area.

Choose the category you want to gift to and on the right side click GIVE.

The gift screen shown here will appear:

HoneyFund giving screen
Complete the information in the blanks and then click the PAY button to have your credit card processed by PayPal, and Eureka!  you're done!  You will receive a receipt, sent to the email address you provided to document your gift and the amount.

Please check this out and consider it as another one of your options for gifts to the happy couple.  No matter what you decide, I know they will be thrilled!

Répondez vous, s'il vous plaît!

The RSVPs are returning, with every day an excited rush to meet the mailman to see who we will hear from next. Our box is filling up as well as our happiness meter, as we see more and more family and friends mailing to let us know they can share the happy day with
Ann and Seth.

As plans continue to take shape, the happy couple has taken some time to create a "wish list" of items they would be excite to have at Bed, Bath & Beyond (https://m.bedbathandbeyond.com/m/giftRegistry?registryId=543141426#FINEDININGGIFTWARE_is ). They were a little late to the game creating this, but once the invitations went out, folks kept asking, so they buckled down and got it done 😊

So, the target date to return your RSVP is APRIL 15! Don't delay and miss your opportunity to have your card take its rightful place in the special RSVP box!

That's it for now - the serious countdown will begin April 15!

The things we do for love ...

Wedding planning ... What a challenge!  Next to building a house together, I can't think of anything that does more to stress and challenge a relationship.  Ann and Seth are no different than any other couple as they feel the pains of working together to make an event that they will remember fondly for a lifetime. To help them have a feeling of control and create another little memory, here is how I've decided to pitch in (enjoy!):

The bouquet has special significance - the white and yellow roses are for Ann, her dad her two brothers and her mom; the three blue roses are for Seth, his brother, Matt, and me. It's kinda my subliminal way to remind everyone that the most important reason that they are going through all their planning is to join each other and their families into a new loving family unit ❤️

Sometimes it's the little things ...

There has been a lull in activity on the wedding front, but today good progress was made!

In less than three hours, the official invitations were assembled, stamped, sorted and addressed, and as you read they are winging their way to mailboxes!

In other news, Seth has used some pretty awesome ingenuity to help create the prototype for the centerpieces for the reception.  The customized blue mirror serves as the base for three levels of candles with floral enhancements under each of the globes. The pieces will be finished off with a decorative flourish of ribbon in the colors of the wedding, blue and silver.  Here is how it turned out - we're pretty happy with it 😊

Stay tuned for more wedding news - the happy couple are looking at honeymoon options now and a possible novel way for YOU to help them make their honeymoon a reality!

Will post again soon!  Thank you for visiting!

All the things ...

... Are here!!! Invitations, save-the-dates, RSVPs, envelopes, seals and stamps all stand at the ready, waiting to be called to action. Tonight we stuffed and stamped the save-the-date mailers - all that's left is addressing, which we'll finish and mail by Sunday. Keep an eye on your mail next week - and be sure to mark your calendar!

Just for fun, here's a pic of unboxing everything from earlier this evening! 😊

Planning - the venue

Now that you're in the loop on how this started, let's take a look at one of the big decisions - where is this shindig gonna
happen?

Ann and Seth have decided on a late afternoon outdoor wedding and reception at Schedel Arboritum and Gardens (http://www.schedel-gardens.org/) in Elmore, Ohio.  It is a beautiful green space with lots of seasonal and year-round plantings and several prominent waterscapes. It is due to the water features and concerns about the safety of children that they have elected to make their event Adults only.

Here are a few shots taken during our walkabout last fall. Enjoy!

Meanwhile, the back story

So, anyone familiar with our families knows that Seth and Ann went to Sylvania Northview together and dated a bit. After that, they went in different directions for a while, but as I feel was their fate from the beginning, they came back together and began their lifelong journey together as a couple. Through many years of school and changes in jobs, they have faced challenges, weathered many emotional storms, and emerged on the other side stronger and more committed for it.

Their most difficult challenge to date has been the tragic untimely passing of Ann's mother, Barb Horvath. She has always been a strong stabilizing force in her family and it goes without saying that the bond between a mother and her daughter is like no other, like silk - both strong and gentle. Her passing has left such a hole in the hearts of all who knew her. At times throughout this process, it has been and will be difficult for Ann and Seth. It's impossible to predict when these moments will creep up - all we can do is honor that they will happen and move forward knowing that Barb is always with us, in our hearts and in Ann.

After this loss, Ann and Seth moved forward with determination - Ann completed her schooling, and received her degree. It was a time to celebrate!

The summer day was warm and bright. The family and friends gathered at a park for a picnic to enjoy each other's company and celebrate Ann accomplishment - or so they thought.

Once the party was going, Seth disappeared with a friend. What Ann did not know is that while she was working and going to school, he had been spending every possible moment restoring a car for her - a Porsche that she had said she would love to have "one day."  As Seth pulled up the drive to the shelter, the look on Ann's face was priceless. Seth parked and got out of the car, walked over to Ann and handed her the key. He escorted her to her car, opened the door and instead of closing the door, he dropped to one knee and brought out a ring from his pocket. The look on her face this time ... Priceless!

So ... That's the short engagement story ... And here they are in their first engaged photo ❤️
